Teapot Studio details The Twilight Project, eyeing 2028 PC release

Teapot Studio presented new details about its survival horror game The Twilight Project at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026, according to 4gamer.net. The game is in development for PC via Steam, with the studio aiming for a release around 2028; no exact date has been set.

The protagonist is an American YouTuber who becomes lost in a Thai forest and is trapped in a mysterious village cut off from the outside world. The village is inhabited by cursed villagers and old monsters drawn from Thai folklore and mythology.

Gameplay is built around a day-night cycle. Players explore and gather resources by day and survive supernatural events at night, and the village shifts into a different dimension between the two. Understanding the relationship between the two versions of the village is key to solving puzzles and defeating bosses. The protagonist carries a special camera that can see into the other dimension, allowing players to check the night village during the day.

Night gameplay includes base defense with limited resources, traps and tools against attacks. The game also features skill progression and a crafting system. Screenshots show the protagonist aiming a shotgun at a giant crocodile-like monster from a bamboo raft on foggy water.

The Twilight Project is built in Unreal Engine and will have full English and Thai voice acting. Teapot Studio is based in Nonthaburi, north of Bangkok, and mainly does contract work in animation, VFX and game production. About 30 people are currently working on the game, which began development roughly two years ago. Developer Nayos Mungkalodom was interviewed at the event.

Earlier showcase

In June 2026, a teaser trailer for The Twilight Project was shown at The Horror Game Awards Showcase, featuring the protagonist setting traps in a forest. The game is Teapot Studio's second own IP, following a mobile game released about six years ago.
