Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the Watch Dogs franchise is an important brand for the company's future, but indicated that no new game in the series is in active development, according to IGN.
Guillemot's comments position the hacking-focused series as a strategic asset for Ubisoft even as the company has no announced project underway for it. The executive did not provide a timeline for any possible future installment.
The franchise debuted in 2014, after originally being planned to launch alongside the PlayStation 4 in November 2013. Its most recent main entry, Watch Dogs: Legion, was released in 2020 and received a mixed reception.
