Two Ultra Street Fighter IV Rollback Mods Released, Both Built With Claude AI

SF4Enhanced and SF4 Ember add rollback netcode and private rooms to Ultra Street Fighter IV; both were made with the assistance of Anthropic's Claude.

Two rollback netcode mods for Ultra Street Fighter IV, named SF4Enhanced and SF4 Ember, have been released in the last few weeks, according to Rock Paper Shotgun. Both projects were created with the assistance of Anthropic's Claude generative AI.

Each mod offers rollback netcode and private rooms for the 2014 fighting game. Ultra Street Fighter IV originally shipped with delay-based netcode, a system that has largely been superseded by rollback netcode across the fighting game genre since the mid 2010s.

Faabi, the creator of SF4Enhanced, has abandoned the project. No reason was given for the decision.

The release follows earlier attempts to bring rollback netcode to Street Fighter IV. Several years ago, a seemingly abandoned rollback mod was made by Wren theenby.
