Uta Macross Offline Revival Adds Chinese Localization as Funding Tops 150 Million Yen

An interview details stretch goals for the crowdfunded offline version, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese support and extra console platforms.

The Uta Macross offline revival project has added Simplified and Traditional Chinese localization, according to an interview reported by Automaton Media. The crowdfunding campaign behind the project has now raised more than 150 million yen.

The campaign launched on 10 September 2026 with a goal of 30 million yen, reached in about an hour. It passed 100 million yen in about three days, and the 150 million yen stretch goal was achieved on 20 October.

At 150 million yen, the project will support more home console platforms, with details to be announced later. Earlier tiers cover a home console version at 75 million yen, planned for sale after the PC, iOS and Android release, more songs in the digital ticket "UTA MACROSS SUPER DIMENSION 3D mini LIVE" at 90 million yen, and paid DLC songs not in the original game at 100 million yen. The 135 million yen tier expands the special art book to include all illustrations.

Further goals remain open: at 180 million yen additional costumes for the divas will be added as DLC after release, and at 200 million yen new songs not in the original game will follow as DLC. The base package includes 50 songs, over 1,000 plates of star 4 or higher, and more than 20 costumes per character from the start.

The offline version is planned for PC via Steam, iOS and Android, and rebuilds the game system with keyboard and mouse support while removing stamina elements and gacha. The project is led by AUGUST president Kei Hirono. The most popular crowdfunding tier as of the article is the 27,000 yen E course.

The original Uta Macross: Smartphone De Culture ran from 2017 to 2022 and was distributed by DeNA. The revival was announced on the biweekly Macross livestream show.
