Valve redesigns Steam store pages with personalized sale-event sections

Valve removed event banners from the top of Steam game pages on November 5, 2026, and added a personalized section above the similar-games carousel.

Valve updated how Steam game store pages display sale events on November 5, 2026, removing the event banners that previously sat at the top of each game's page and adding a new personalized section in their place, according to automaton-media.com.

Titles taking part in a Steam sale event now show that event in a dedicated section above the similar-games carousel in the middle of the page. Both the visibility and the content of the section are personalized for each player.

When a game is running in several events at the same time, the system gives priority to the event that contains the most games recommended for that particular player.

The change extends Valve's work on personalized recommendation features aimed at improving game discoverability on Steam, which predates the widespread use of generative AI in game development. That push comes as the storefront absorbs a rising volume of releases: 24,299 new titles have launched on Steam so far this year, against 21,208 last year, with releases rising sharply between September and October.
