Vincent D'Onofrio Backs Deborah Ann Woll, Rejects God of War Laufey Boycott
The actor called the boycott call wrong and praised Woll, saying he can't wait to play God of War Laufey with his son.
Actor Vincent D'Onofrio publicly defended Deborah Ann Woll and rejected a gamer's call to boycott God of War Laufey, according to wccftech.com.
D'Onofrio said he disagrees with the boycott call and praised Woll as beautiful, talented, smart, kind and a good friend.
He added that he is a fan of God of War and cannot wait to play the new game with his son.
The boycott call came after a gamer accused the God of War Laufey development team of designing Faye's armor to spite heterosexual men and to further what the gamer described as a feminist agenda.
The exchange is the latest flashpoint around God of War Laufey, which was revealed at the June 2026 State of Play and drew backlash over Laufey, also known as Faye, becoming the new protagonist. Since then, Santa Monica Studio has said Kratos remains the God of War and that the game runs parallel to God of War 2018 and Ragnarök, while Game Director Ariel Lawrence has pushed back on the sexist tone of much of the criticism.
