War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time Board Game Raises $1.16 Million on Kickstarter

Dire Wolf's board game based on Robert Jordan's books drew 6,156 backers and is scheduled to arrive in 2027, according to Screen Rant.

War of the Dragon: The Wheel of Time, an upcoming board game from studio Dire Wolf inspired by Robert Jordan's book series, has drawn 6,156 backers pledging $1,166,993 on Kickstarter, according to Screen Rant. The campaign has closed to new pledges, but the project can still be followed on Kickstarter.

A BackerKit campaign ran alongside the Kickstarter effort. The game is scheduled to arrive in 2027.

Two modes, two player counts

The game offers two ways to play. Hero Mode supports up to four players, while Epic Mode is designed for two.

Its scenarios depict events from the books, including the Battle of Two Rivers and the Last Battle, with Rand al'Thor and The Dark One among the characters featured.

The project lands after the television adaptation of The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime Video ended in March 2025 after three seasons. Fans have since campaigned for the show's return under the #SaveWoT hashtag, without success so far.
