Spector targets EA executive pay after BioWare closure

Warren Spector cited CEO Andrew Wilson's $38.65 million fiscal 2026 compensation while criticizing layoffs across EA studios.

Warren Spector published a second LinkedIn post on November 5, 2026, criticizing Electronic Arts executives' multi-million-dollar compensation and blaming them for layoffs across the industry after the closure of BioWare, according to PC Gamer.

In the post, Spector argued that the executives responsible for studio problems never face consequences while developers do. He contrasted the pay packages with what he described as tens of thousands of developers and makers out of work.

Spector listed total compensation for EA executives for fiscal year 2026. He cited chief executive Andrew Wilson at $38.65 million, president Laura Miele at $13.7 million, chief financial officer Stuart Canfield at $11.3 million, chief legal officer Jake Schatz at $8.4 million and chief people officer Mala Singh at $8.3 million.

According to the figures Spector cited, Wilson's pay rose from $30.5 million in 2025 and Miele's from $9.1 million.

Two weeks before this post, Spector had called EA's decision to close BioWare "bullshit" in an earlier LinkedIn message. The fiscal 2026 raises were awarded in part for meeting milestones for a high-quality launch of Battlefield 6, a few months after EA laid off staff at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect and Motive and shut down Ridgeline Games, which was working on a story-focused Battlefield game.
