Warsaw presents 2025/2026 game industry report to Japanese and Korean visitors
City officials briefed visiting industry representatives on Warsaw's game sector and public support programs, according to 4gamer.net.
Warsaw city officials presented the city's 2025/2026 game industry report and its public support programs to visiting Japanese and Korean industry representatives in October 2026, according to 4gamer.net. The briefing took place at Centrum Przedsiębiorczości Smolna, the city's entrepreneurship support facility.
The report counts 307 game development companies and publishers in Warsaw and 6343 people working in the game industry. Those figures correspond to about 37% of Poland's game companies and about 44% of its game industry workers.
By headcount, the city is presented as Europe's largest game development hub, ahead of London with 5930, Stockholm with 5820 and Barcelona with 5170. Warsaw's game industry revenue in 2024 reached about 2.518 billion zloty.
The city survey also counted 18 Warsaw-made games or series that have passed one million copies sold worldwide, with local studios including CD PROJEKT RED, 11 bit studios and Rebel Wolves among the companies linked to that output.
Grant funding and accessibility support
Adam Konowrocki of the Creative Industries Institute (IPK) presented the institution's Program Wsparcia Gier Wideo, which for the 2025/2026 cycle offers grants of 20,000 to 400,000 zloty covering 80-95% of project costs for prototyping. The program also funds accessibility features such as subtitles, audio description and control adjustments, as well as localization of Polish-made games into other languages.
Warsaw has positioned creative industries, and game development in particular, as a priority in its economic development policy over the past two years. The city co-hosted the second Student Games Festival on October 8-9, 2026, and took part in PAX West in Seattle for the first time in 2026, supporting a Polish national booth, with about 350 people attending its networking event.
