Witchbrook Launches January 28, 2027, With Xbox Game Pass Debut

Chucklefish confirmed the release date in a trailer at Nintendo's Indie World, with the digital edition priced at $24.99.

Witchbrook will launch on January 28, 2027, Chucklefish announced in a new trailer that premiered during Nintendo's Indie World presentation in late October 2026, as reported by gamerant.com. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The release covers PC, PS4, PS5, both Nintendo Switch generations and the latest two generations of Xbox consoles. The digital version will cost $24.99 at launch.

The trailer introduced Witchbrook College's ghostly Chancellor, known as the "Deadmaster," and showcased the spellcasting system, studying and a knowledge mechanic, potion-making, tarot, magical creatures and covenmate storylines. The game is set in the town of Mossport and is co-developed by German studio Robotality.

Physical editions to follow

Physical Standard and Collector's Editions are in development and will arrive after the digital release. The January 28 date makes Witchbrook the fourth title with an official January 2027 Xbox Game Pass launch, alongside Armatus on January 7, Stranger Than Heaven on January 15 and Tropico 7 on January 28.

Witchbrook was first revealed in 2017. In March 2025, Chucklefish confirmed it would be a day-one Xbox Game Pass title while targeting a 2025 release. Seven months later the launch window was pushed to 2026, and it has now moved again into 2027.
