CD Projekt Red Lists Witcher 3 Remaster Fixes, PS5 Performance First

The studio says performance problems, especially on PlayStation 5, top the list of fixes planned for the remastered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

CD Projekt Red has published a list of issues it plans to fix in the remastered The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with performance problems, particularly on PlayStation 5, at the top. No exact date was given for the patch.

The planned fixes also include more visual adjustments, repairs to My Rewards and Twitch Drops, console voiceover audio fixes, and Ukrainian localization for other regions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. CD Projekt Red additionally plans to add more mod support across all platforms with help from Mod.io.

Issues reported after the remaster's launch

The remaster of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in October 2025. Players reported dropped frames, screen tearing, audio issues, crashes and environmental flickering, particularly on PlayStation 5, according to Polygon.

On Windows PC, Ray Tracing and Nvidia Hairworks caused major performance issues for many players. Negative Steam reviews spiked, with recent reviews at 79% positive against a 96% overall average, while the remaster reached a concurrent player peak of nearly 140,000 on Steam.

CD Projekt Red rolled out a pair of patches shortly after launch day for graphical issues, save file problems and audio bugs. The remaster was released to prepare players for the upcoming DLC Songs of the Past, set for 2027, in which Geralt solves a dark mystery in Dandelion's hometown of Letten. CD Projekt plans to release The Witcher 4 in 2028, starring Geralt's adoptive daughter Ciri.
