CD Projekt Red ships two Witcher 3 Remastered hotfixes in hours
Patches 5.00b and 5.00c tackle lighting, DLSS, saving and audio bugs in The Witcher 3: Remastered, with a console voice fix still to come.
CD Projekt Red pushed out two hotfixes for The Witcher 3: Remastered within hours of each other, targeting graphical, saving and audio problems in the updated release.
Patch 5.00b dealt with visual issues, including lighting adjustments and a DLSS problem affecting Xbox Play Anywhere on PC. It also brought the console versions closer in line with the PC build.
Patch 5.00c followed with two narrower fixes. One resolved a bug that blocked saving or loading when the Documents folder path contained special characters. The other addressed an audio issue where voiceover played significantly quieter than other audio after players navigated the pause menu.
CD Projekt Red's social media director said a fix for the voice issue is coming to consoles, but did not give a date.
What's next for The Witcher 3
The remaster launched on September 29, improving graphics and overhauling systems from the 2015 original. Songs of the Past, a new expansion co-developed by CD Projekt Red and Fool's Theory, is due next year.
Fool's Theory is also working on a remake of the original Witcher, though that project has taken a backseat to Songs of the Past and The Witcher 4. The Witcher 4 is in development at CD Projekt Red, stars Ciri as the protagonist, and is due out in 2028. Polygon reported the hotfix details.
