Witcher 3 Remastered Switch 2 patch 5.01 targets blur and brightness
CD Projekt Red's patch 5.01 adjusts image sharpening and resolution on Switch 2, adds Bloom and Depth of Field options, and fixes a rare region-change crash.
CD Projekt Red released patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 19, 2026, according to Eurogamer. The update adjusts image sharpening and resolution on the console and reduces some of the brightness in the game's lighting.
The graphics settings menu gains Bloom, Light Shafts and Depth of Field options. CD Projekt Red also fixed a rare crash that occurred when changing between in-game regions on Switch 2.
Gameplay and controller fixes
Patch 5.01 adds damage reflection to the Exploding Shield skill and corrects the Automatically Apply Blade Oils feature, which previously worked only if it was enabled during the current session. HD Rumble now registers on both Joy-Con 2 controllers when climbing a ladder, rather than only on the left one.
The update also adds Ukrainian text localisation in all regions. Because of backend issues, the policy consent screen will appear again for players.
The Remastered edition launched in late September 2026, and players reported that it looked blurry, particularly in handheld mode. Brightness from its lighting has been a main area of contention since release. The remaster visually modernises the 11-year-old role-playing game and adds new animations and tweaks to skills and enemy behaviour, ahead of the expansion Songs of the Past, due next year.
