WONDERFALL Hits Steam on December 9, 2026

Abandon Interactive's narrative adventure sends orphan Leon through a sand-swallowed 1920s Paris, with a demo already playable on Steam.

Abandon Interactive will release its narrative adventure game WONDERFALL on Steam on December 9, 2026, according to gamemeca.com. A playable demo of the game is already available on the platform ahead of launch.

WONDERFALL is a third-person adventure set in a 1920s Paris that is being swallowed by sand, unleashed by a mysterious force known as Entropy. Players control Leon, an orphan who can manipulate the very sand that Entropy produces.

Acting on the orders of his adoptive father Ernest, Leon enters the ruins of Île de la Cité. The journey runs through collapsing subway tunnels, Paris streets and rooftops, Notre-Dame Cathedral and Sainte-Chapelle, and forgotten galleries beneath the island.

Along the way Leon meets Lily, who is searching for her missing father, and crosses paths with Wartan, the founder of an academy. The story is delivered through more than 1,000 lines of dialogue, records scattered around the city and cinematic scenes.

Dialogue while moving

Game director Jérôme Beaune said the team wanted players to find answers by hand rather than by watching cutscenes. Creative director Sylvian Bouvier added that most of the 1,000-plus lines play while the player is moving.
