World of Warcraft: Forever name reservations open in NA, EU delayed

Name reservations are limited to players who pre-purchased a bundle; EU realms were blocked by an unresolved technical issue on October 27, 2026.

Character name reservations for World of Warcraft: Forever opened for North American servers at 4:00 p.m. ET on October 27, 2026, according to Kotaku. Access is limited to players who pre-purchased one of the game bundles.

European realm reservations, which were scheduled to open earlier the same day, were blocked by an unresolved technical issue.

Players who intend to play using an existing World of Warcraft subscription cannot reserve names. Those who pre-purchased must install the game through the Battle.net app and launch it when reservations open.

During reservation, players choose a ruleset — PvP, RP or Normal — and can create up to three characters, selecting class, race, appearance and name. World of Warcraft: Forever characters carry both a first and a last name.

Graphics settings also let players toggle between new and old character models. The game launches on November 4, 2026.
