Blizzard Debuts Talebound Roguelike Mode on WoW 12.1.7 PTR

The free-to-play mode runs a demo from October 30 to November 1 and adds three classes: Inquisitor, Witch and Slayer.

Blizzard has launched Talebound, a time-limited free-to-play roguelike game mode for World of Warcraft, on the 12.1.7 PTR, according to gamerant.com. A demo of the mode runs from October 30 to November 1.

Talebound adds three new classes: Inquisitor, Witch and Slayer. Players cannot bring their existing World of Warcraft characters into the mode, and it is free even for those without an active subscription.

After an introduction, players choose between three tales: Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood and Greywake's Expedition. Each tale comes in three difficulties: Normal, Veteran and Heroic. A fourth tale will be added when the mode officially leaves the PTR.

Runs end when a player dies or defeats a tale's final boss. The only thing lost is temporary boons.

World of Warcraft originally launched in the United States in 2004 and has been running for 22 years.
