Xbox sets four-day office mandate for Puget Sound staff from February 2027
Xbox chief people officer Jacinda Chislum Pearson told staff the four-day requirement applies to employees within 50 commuting miles of Studio D.
Xbox has told employees that staff based in Puget Sound who live within 50 commuting miles of Studio D must work from the office at least four days a week, starting February 1, 2027. The Xbox chief people officer, Jacinda Chislum Pearson, informed staff of the four-day in-office requirement, according to Kotaku.
The change raises the minimum attendance from the current three days a week in the office, which Xbox has required until now.
The mandate lands while the gaming division, led by CEO Asha Sharma, is carrying out a "reset" that is expected to cut 20 percent of its headcount.
In October 2025, Fortune reported that the next rounds of layoffs would arrive that month, the following month and in early January. Xbox has thousands of employees within commuting distance of Redmond.
