Xbox PC app update speeds launch by up to 60% for Insiders
Microsoft says the update, rolling out to Xbox Insiders, also makes Home, Store and Game Pass pages load up to 50 percent faster.
Microsoft released an update to the Xbox app for PC for Xbox Insiders on November 5, 2026, adding performance and navigation changes, according to Engadget. The company says the app now launches up to 60 percent faster, based on its internal testing.
Microsoft says the Home, Store and Game Pass pages each load up to 50 percent faster, while windows inside the app open up to 65 percent faster.
The update also reworks how the library works, with updated filters and game organization. Search now covers games, installed titles, people and add-ons in one place.
Friends and social features move into the main navigation, and the app gets redesigned game cards along with a refreshed Home page and Settings.
Microsoft said the refreshed Xbox web experience it previewed in January will soon roll out to more players automatically, and that a similar redesign is coming to its Xbox cloud gaming apps for TVs and VR headsets.
