A24 expands You Can See Everything after $15M box-office win
A24 will add theaters nationwide for Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's documentary, which opened in 855 locations.
A24 is expanding its documentary You Can See Everything to additional theaters nationwide in the coming week, the studio said, after the film's $15 million opening in 855 theaters topped the domestic box-office chart, according to collider.com.
The film opened this past weekend with $15 million from 855 locations and reported 2,000 sold-out shows. It is the first documentary playing in fewer than 1,000 theaters to lead the domestic chart.
The opening ranks as the second-biggest for a documentary, behind Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11. You Can See Everything also overtook Street Fighter, the video game adaptation, over the frame.
The three-hour film, co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, follows Elizabeth Holmes before her incarceration. Its existence was revealed at this year's Telluride Film Festival, and A24 built an air of exclusivity around it in the weeks that followed.
