Aamir Khan said Rajkumar Hirani is working on the script for a sequel to 3 Idiots, and that Hirani will narrate the final version to him within a couple of weeks. Khan made the comments at the Singapore International Film Festival, according to Variety.
The actor also said Rajkumar Santoshi is working on something related to a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna. Neither project was given a title, release date or cast confirmation.

Earlier films and a change of pace
Hirani directed the campus comedy 3 Idiots in 2009, and Santoshi directed the cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna in 1994. Khan's 1988 debut Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak became a hit, after which he signed nine films in six months and they flopped.
