Chris Stewart joins A+E Global Media to lead content sales in the UK, Ireland and Germany, based in the UK, according to Deadline.
A+E Global Media has hired international TV distribution veteran Chris Stewart as VP, Content Sales, Deadline reported. In the role, Stewart will lead sales for the company in the UK, Ireland and Germany, and he is based in the UK.
Patrick Vien is Group Managing Director, International at A+E.
The appointment follows a shakeup in the distribution business. A week before Deadline's report, the outlet revealed that Stewart was among those who exited Banijay Rights after Banijay Entertainment merged with All3Media.
At Banijay, Stewart served as SVP, UK and Ireland. Earlier in his career he was Commercial Director, Scripted at Banijay Rights and Head of Drama at BBC Worldwide, the predecessor of BBC Studios. He began his career at 2Entertain, the BBC Worldwide joint venture with Woolworths.
Earlier in the year, A+E commissioned shows including History's Strange Fortunes with Kevin Bacon, Extraordinary Origins with Ted Danson and Buried in Barstow 2: Blood for Blood. The company is heading to MIPCOM Cannes this month.
