Alan Ritchson says he once had approval to adapt Lee Child's Jack Reacher novel Die Trying, but the plan stalled after an election. The actor shared the claim on Threads, saying the approval lasted "until someone got re-elected."
Die Trying is the second Jack Reacher novel, published in 1998. The main Reacher series has adapted the first book, Killing Floor, along with later entries including Bad Luck and Trouble, Persuader, and Gone Tomorrow.
A fifth season is confirmed to adapt Make Me, the 20th Jack Reacher novel. That leaves Die Trying as one of the early books still untouched by the show.
