AMC Unveils Sandworm Thumper Popcorn Bucket for Dune: Part Three
AMC Theatres revealed two new Dune: Part Three collectibles, including a Double Sandworm bucket, with prices to be announced later.
AMC Theatres has unveiled two new popcorn bucket designs for Dune: Part Three: a Sandworm Thumper and a Double Sandworm collectable, according to Variety. Prices for the items will be announced later.
The Sandworm Thumper features a working thumper design, modeled on the device used to pound desert sand and attract giant sandworms. The Double Sandworm collectable holds two Shai-Hulud and is described as making it easier to share.
Both are part of a wider Dune: Part Three collection that also includes an Atreides-Fremen light-up cup, a Spacing Guild navigator cup, mystery keychains and a sandworm plush.
The items will be sold exclusively at AMC locations and at Odeon Cinemas throughout Europe.
Release and cast
Dune: Part Three opens in theaters on Dec. 18. The film stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Rebecca Ferguson.
In 2024, AMC drew wide attention after the sandworm-inspired popcorn bucket for Dune: Part Two was found to be suggestive and became the subject of memes. That bucket later featured in a Saturday Night Live sketch, and canisters priced at $24.99 plus tax sold for much more on secondary markets such as eBay.
