Anthony Ramos and Michael Peña have been cast in the thriller Free Agent, according to comingsoon.net. Antonio Negret is set to direct.
The screenplay is written by Charlie Wachtel and David Rabinowitz. Peña plays sports agent Bartolo “Bart” Hernandez, while Ramos plays Julio Estrada.
Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick of Impossible Dream Entertainment are producing, alongside Roberto Urbina, Jason Cherubini and Martin Ramos of Colombia's Synestesys.

Earlier life of the project
The script first appeared on the 2018 Black List under the title Bolsa Negra. Around 2009, Hernandez and Estrada became involved with a network that transported Cuban baseball players to the U.S. using fraudulent residency documents. In 2017, both were convicted of smuggling charges in Miami federal court and sentenced to four and five years in prison respectively. They have since been released after serving their sentences.
