Ashley Greene Says Playing Herself on Wonder Man Was 'Weirdest' Role

Ashley Greene made a memorable appearance in the first episode of Marvel's Wonder Man, but not in the way fans might expect. The actress played a heightened version of herself on the set of a fictional season of American Horror Story.

In the scene, Greene's character is set to undergo a monstrous transformation, but it never happens because Simon, the show's overcomplicating lead, is removed from the production. Greene discussed the experience during a reunion panel with former Twilight co-star Jackson Rathbone at FanX Salt Lake City, moderated by Collider's Maggie Lovitt.

Greene described playing herself as the weirdest thing she has ever done. The cameo adds to a growing list of surprise appearances in Wonder Man, which also features Josh Gad and Joe Pantoliano.

The series, which premiered in January, stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the leading role. It earned Marvel's first acting Emmy nomination since WandaVision, marking a notable achievement for the studio's television output.
