Avatar Aang Blu-ray Promo Miscredits M. Night Shyamalan as Director
Paramount's promotional release for the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender home-media debut also listed the 2010 film's cast and synopsis.
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender arrived on DVD and Blu-ray on November 3, 2026, and an official promotional release for the home-media debut credited M. Night Shyamalan as the film's director instead of Lauren Montgomery, according to cbr.com. A 4K UHD Steelbook edition is listed for release on February 9, 2027, via Amazon.
The same promotional material named Dev Patel, Cliff Curtis and Jackson Rathbone — cast members of Shyamalan's 2010 live-action film — rather than the animated film's voice cast. It also carried the synopsis of the 2010 film The Last Airbender and stated that the new film was available on UHD that day.
Shyamalan's The Last Airbender made its own 4K UHD debut on the same day as the Avatar Aang DVD and Blu-ray release.
Background
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was directed by Lauren Montgomery from a screenplay by Christopher Yost and Tim Hedrick, and it stars Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka and Dave Bautista as Tagah. It released via Paramount+ on July 25, 2026, after months of leaks and controversial decisions by Paramount, and it did not receive the theatrical release originally planned.
