Avatar: The Last Airbender – Enter the Blue Spirit Graphic Novel Set for 2027

Dark Horse Comics announced a Zuko-centric prequel graphic novel, Avatar: The Last Airbender – Enter the Blue Spirit, arriving February 23, 2027.

Dark Horse Comics has officially announced Avatar: The Last Airbender – Enter the Blue Spirit, a new graphic novel centered on Prince Zuko, set for release on February 23, 2027. The 80-page trade paperback will be priced at $13.99.

The book is written by Faith Erin Hicks, drawn by Peter Wartman, and colored by Adele Matera. It follows Zuko's early months in exile before he hunted the Avatar, and depicts his first use of the Blue Spirit persona.

The announcement gives fans of the franchise a new Zuko story in comic form. In 2022, reports circulated of a Zuko-focused animated movie separate from the adult Gaang movie. In 2026, fans received news that Paramount canceled the planned Zuko movie, which reports said had reached late development with voice recording underway. Those reports originated from Knight Edge Media and were never officially verified by Avatar Studios or Paramount.

The graphic novel arrives in stores on February 23, 2027.
