Big Finish Productions has released a new audio drama box set, The War Master: Deeds Without Name, with Derek Jacobi returning as The Master. The set is available now and contains four stories. Collider reported the release.
The four stories are "The Unstately Home" by Alison Winter, "Dead Man's Pulse" by Mark Bowsher, "The Devil in the Detail" by David K Barnes and "In His Anecdotage" by Matthew Sweet. Jacobi, who plays the role at the age of 88, leads the cast across all four.
The character has a long history on screen. Jacobi was given only one episode as The Master in 2007, with the character unaware of his own identity until a late reveal.
Counting flashback performances, 12 actors have played The Master over the show's history, from Roger Delgado in the early 1970s to Michelle Gomez's first female incarnation in the mid-2010s.
