BriskPace Studios Launches BriskPace Unlimited Label, Unveils First Series

The new-formats label's debut original is a true-crime comedy about an imprisoned orangutan, co-produced with AI studio AiMation.

BriskPace Studios has launched a new-formats label called BriskPace Unlimited and unveiled its first original series, The Light and Hard Times of Lucky Briscoe, at MIA in Rome, according to Deadline.

The series is a true-crime comedy about an imprisoned orangutan with political ambitions. It is co-produced with AI studio AiMation, which BriskPace Unlimited part-owns.

Jason Hazeley, a writer on the BBC comedy Cunk on Earth, is showrunner. Joe Markham, who worked on The Amazing World of Gumball, is writing the series. Al Munteanu created the series and executive produces, and co-directs with Tom Paton, founder of AiMation.

The pilot is completed, and a first look is being shown at MIA during Munteanu's keynote. The series is made with AI-generated imagery and music under a human creative team.

Micro-dramas and creator-led formats

BriskPace Unlimited will work on AI-native productions, micro-dramas and creator-led formats. The label is a seed investor alongside Groupe M6 in the French micro-drama app Sweetz, and an investor in the Israel-based platform Snips.

BriskPace Studios was launched in 2025 by Munteanu with the team behind his SquareOne Productions. Snips launched in August with catalogue deals from Banijay Rights and BIG Media.
