Cage says he looks forward to Gosling's Ghost Rider film
Nicolas Cage, promoting Madden at its premiere, said he and Ryan Gosling stay in touch about the Marvel project.
Nicolas Cage said he is looking forward to seeing Ryan Gosling's new Ghost Rider film, speaking at the premiere of his own movie Madden, according to hollywoodreporter.com. Cage said he has had nice conversations with Gosling and that the two stay in touch.
Marvel announced at Comic-Con in July that Gosling will lead a new Ghost Rider film directed by Shawn Levy. At that announcement, Gosling said Ghost Rider is a character he has wanted to play for a very long time.
Connor Storrie is in talks to star as the villain in the film, which is dated for July 28, 2028.
Cage previously played the character: he starred as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider in 2007 and reprised the role in the 2012 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Eva Mendes, Gosling's wife, appeared alongside Cage in the 2007 film.
Cage's current release is David O. Russell's Madden, in which he plays football icon John Madden. The film opens in limited theaters on Nov. 11 and streams on Prime Video from Nov. 18.
