Cappu Films Takes Worldwide Sales on Erica Xia-Hou's 'Banr'

Hong Kong's Cappu Films is presenting the Alzheimer's drama to buyers at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market.

Hong Kong's Cappu Films has acquired worldwide sales rights to "Banr," the Alzheimer's drama written, directed and produced by Erica Xia-Hou, according to Variety. The company is presenting the film to buyers at the Busan International Film Festival's Asian Contents & Film Market.

"Banr" stars Sui Li and Baoqing Li as a couple, with Erica Xia-Hou playing their daughter.

Cappu Films' Busan lineup also includes "Fox Hunt," "Ephemera," "Operation Doolittle," "Lion Fist," "Her Last Laugh," "Overstake" and "Zombie Plane."

"Banr" had its world premiere in the Narrative Features lineup at the 2025 Slamdance Film Festival.

Xia-Hou co-wrote "Fox Hunt" with director Leo Zhang and starred in it opposite Tony Leung Chiu-wai. Cappu Films holds exclusive international rights to "Fox Hunt" and has already sold it into several territories. Her other credits include the 2017 Jackie Chan actioner "Bleeding Steel," which she co-wrote and acted in.
