Carlotta Films takes Artcraft catalogue rights in France

The deal opens at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon with a restored version of the 1927 Clara Bow film It, screened October 17 with organ accompaniment.

Carlotta Films has signed a deal to represent Artcraft Pictures' catalogue across all rights in France, covering both theatrical and home entertainment, according to Variety. The partnership launches at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon with a newly restored version of Clarence G. Badger's 1927 film It.

The restored It, starring Clara Bow, screens on October 17 at Lyon's Auditorium with organ accompaniment by Gabriele Agrimonti.

The Artcraft catalogue covered by the agreement also includes Beau Geste (1926), The Affairs of Anatol (1921), Miss Lulu Bett and His Glorious Night (1929). Carlotta plans theatrical and Blu-ray releases in France, though individual dates have not yet been announced.

Artcraft Pictures is working with the San Francisco Silent Film Festival on restorations from Paramount's silent-era library, a collaboration that began in 2025 with co-founders James Mockoski and Robert A. Harris.

The restored Beau Geste was presented at the Telluride Film Festival earlier this year. Carlotta Films has distributed classic cinema in France for close to three decades.
