Carrie Tops U.S. and Global Streaming Charts on Prime Video

The Stephen King adaptation, showrun by Mike Flanagan, debuted on October 7, 2026, and sits ahead of Neagley and Reacher.

The Carrie series has taken the No. 1 spot on both the U.S. and global streaming charts, according to movieweb.com, ranking ahead of Neagley at No. 2 and Reacher at No. 3. The eight-episode first season debuted on Prime Video on October 7, 2026.

The series holds an 85% critics' score and a Certified Fresh label on Rotten Tomatoes, alongside an 83% audience score. Mike Flanagan serves as showrunner and writes and directs several episodes; the cast includes Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, with Samantha Sloyan, Amber Midthunder, Matthew Lillard and Rahul Kohli.

The first season covers the events of Stephen King's novel, though its ending departs from the book: Carrie survives and leaves on a road trip with the entity Emaline. Amazon has not yet renewed Carrie for a second season.

Chart position follows weeks of Reacher dominance

Reacher and its spin-off Neagley spent weeks at the top of the streaming charts before Carrie claimed the No. 1 place. King's novel was first published in 1974, and Brian De Palma's 1976 adaptation was followed by the 1999 sequel The Rage: Carrie 2, a 2002 made-for-TV feature and a 2013 theatrical remake.

Flanagan told Collider that his vision for the series is a three-season arc.
