Casey Bloys to Lead Combined Paramount-WBD Streaming

Casey Bloys is expected to head the combined Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery streaming operation after the merger closes on October 6, following Cindy Holland's exit.

Casey Bloys is expected to lead the combined streaming operation of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery once their merger closes on October 6, according to Deadline. The move follows the exit of Cindy Holland, Paramount's Chair of Direct to Consumer, earlier this week.

Bloys, who has overseen HBO's programming through multiple corporate transitions, said he believes Paramount CEO David Ellison will maintain what HBO has done. He also hinted that HBO Max and Paramount+ may be bundled rather than fully merged.

His contract runs through 2027 and reportedly includes a stipulation that he reports to the company's CEO. Bloys was HBO President of Programming when Time Warner was acquired by AT&T, and later served as Content Chief for HBO and HBO Max when WarnerMedia was acquired by Discovery in 2022.

In March, Bloys had a much-talked-about meal with Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos. This past summer, Francesca Orsi was approached for a top programming job at Amazon MGM Studios but stayed at HBO. HBO and HBO Max have had strong showings at the 2025 and 2026 Emmys and added several new series, including A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, It: Welcome To Derry, Rooster, Task, I Love LA, The Chair Company, and DTF St. Louis.

In 2018, Bloys said there were no plans to dilute the HBO brand in favor of increasing volume of programming.
