Chandler Riggs Releases 20-Minute Resident Evil 7 Fan Film BIOHAZARD

Chandler Riggs wrote, directed and stars as Ethan Winters in the 20-minute short, which adapts Resident Evil 7's garage fight scene.

Chandler Riggs has released a 20-minute Resident Evil 7 fan film titled BIOHAZARD, and it is now available to watch. Riggs wrote, directed and stars in the short as Resident Evil 7 protagonist Ethan Winters.

The cast includes Jason Douglas as Jack Baker, the patriarch of the infected family, alongside Mary Rachel Quinn, Eugenie Bondurant, Johnathan O'Neil and Sam Coyles. Special effects for BIOHAZARD were provided by Greg Nicotero, co-founder of KNB EFX.

The short adapts the garage fight scene from Resident Evil 7. According to bloody-disgusting.com, Riggs told IGN he wanted to bring that moment to life on-screen.

Why Riggs made the short

In that IGN interview, Riggs said the short was in pre-production when an article about Zach Cregger directing a Resident Evil movie came out, prompting him to try to release his short first. He also said they tried to get the short out about a month before its release, but timing did not work out.

Riggs said one reason for making the short was wanting to see a faithful live-action adaptation of Resident Evil. He described playing Ethan as intimidating because the short is shot in third person rather than the game's first-person perspective.
