Channel 4 Appoints Louisa Compton to Executive Board

Louisa Compton, currently Director of News, Digital and Audience Trust, joins CEO Priya Dogra and CFO Lucy Thomas on Channel 4's board.

Channel 4 has appointed Louisa Compton as an Executive Board Member, the broadcaster confirmed. Compton, who currently serves as Channel 4's Director of News, Digital and Audience Trust, will join the board alongside CEO Priya Dogra, CFO Lucy Thomas, chair Geoff Cooper and the company's non-executive directors.

The broadcaster also stated that the next director of programmes — the role currently held by Ian Katz — will hold a seat on the Channel 4 board. Deadline reported the appointment.

Background

In October 2025, Broadcast reported that the final two candidates to replace Katz as head of programmes were Stuart Murphy and David Brindley. Katz is leaving the role, and a reshaped structure will see his replacement level-pegging with Compton and Kiran Nataraja, all reporting to Priya Dogra. Dogra said at a convention last week that Katz's replacement could be unveiled in the coming weeks.
