Charles Soule on How Star Wars Comics Answer What Films Left Open
At FanX Salt Lake City, the writer told Collider that The Fall of Kylo Ren covers the period right after Episode VIII.
Writer Charles Soule discussed his approach to writing Star Wars comics in an interview with Collider's Maggie Lovitt at FanX Salt Lake City, saying he bases his stories on questions the films and TV shows left unanswered.
In the interview, Soule described The Fall of Kylo Ren as covering the period right after Episode VIII, when Kylo Ren becomes supreme leader of the First Order but has lost everything.
Soule said his Star Wars canon work goes through Lucasfilm and Marvel.
The writer has previously worked on Star Wars comics for Marvel. In 2019, he wrote the limited series The Rise of Kylo Ren, which depicted Ben Solo's fall to the dark side under Supreme Leader Snoke with the Knights of Ren. Before that, he worked on The Legacy of Vader.
