Cheyenne Jackson Campaign Spotlights Actors Losing SAG-AFTRA Health Insurance

Actor Cheyenne Jackson has started an Instagram initiative called One Job Away to post headshots and biographies of actors close to losing their SAG-AFTRA health insurance. The campaign began on October 24, 2026, the day before Variety reported on it.

Jackson, who has 741,000 Instagram followers, received hundreds of submissions in less than 24 hours. He has so far posted 22 headshots, including those of Juston Graber, Miho Saito, Trace Lysette, Jai Rodriguez and Daniel Franzese.

Some of the featured performers are close to the earnings threshold. Graber is $198.48 short of qualifying for SAG-AFTRA insurance, while Saito is $402 short, according to Variety.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared some of Jackson's One Job Away posts with her 6.7 million Instagram followers. Jackson said he does not want to blame SAG-AFTRA leadership, but wants to start a wider conversation because the system is not working.

Earlier warnings from actors

Last year, Jackson himself came close to losing his SAG-AFTRA insurance because he was short of the roughly $28,000 annual earnings minimum. He asked Kathy Bates for help and got a five-line role on Matlock, earning the $6,000 he needed. On October 13, Drake Bell said in an Instagram post that his covered earnings from July 2025 to June 2026 did not meet the SAG-AFTRA Health Plan minimum, having earned $17,480.53 against a requirement of $28,933. In September, Jack Haven and Heather Matarazzo both said they would not qualify for health insurance without more work soon.
