Chris Pratt: Third Super Mario Film's Recording Hasn't Begun

Pratt says the filmmakers are still working out the story for the next Super Mario animated movie and he will return when called.

Voice recording for the third Super Mario animated film has not started yet, Chris Pratt said. Pratt, who voices Mario, told interviewer Liam Crowley that the filmmakers are probably still figuring out the story.

"Whenever they want me, I'll be there," Pratt said of returning to the role, according to comingsoon.net. The actor gave no date for when work on the film might begin.

The first entry in the series, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, earned over $1.36 billion worldwide in 2023. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie crossed $1 billion following its April 2026 release.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie introduced Princess Daisy in its final post-credits scene, and Fox McCloud, voiced by Glen Powell, also appeared in a post-credits scene.
