Clive Barker says he wants to make more Hellraiser films
The franchise creator told Dread Central he has many ideas he would like to pursue and would not repeat past compromises.
Clive Barker, the creator of Hellraiser, said he wants to bring the franchise back to film and pursue other Hellraiser projects, according to an interview with horror outlet Dread Central published on October 18, 2026.
Barker said he has many Hellraiser ideas he would like to pursue, and that he would not accept the compromises he made on earlier films in the series.
The comments come after a busy month for the franchise. Earlier in October 2026, Saber Interactive released a Hellraiser video game that received a solid reception.
The last Hellraiser movie was Hulu's 2022 reboot. A Hellraiser TV show was announced for HBO in 2019 but has seen no movement since.
Barker got the Hellraiser rights back in 2020, having signed them away before the original 1987 film released. He has blamed the decline of the films on the Hollywood system, saying many Weinstein-made sequels were made just to hold onto the rights.
