Webber, Mulroney, Winnick Lead 'Compound 9' Shooting in Miami

Daniel Webber, Dermot Mulroney and Katheryn Winnick are set to lead the cast of the psychological horror-thriller Compound 9, which is now shooting in Miami, Variety reports.

Rodrigo H. Vila is directing the film, which is inspired by William Peter Blatty's 1980 film The Ninth Configuration. The screenplay was written by Vila, Andy Weiss and Ari Schlossberg.

Webber plays military psychiatrist Dr. Mark Connors, Mulroney plays Col. Dr. Morton Phillips and Winnick plays nurse Riley. Cassandra Han handled casting.

Lía Rodríguez and Pilar de Posadas are producing through Unfolding Content. Moonrise Media is handling worldwide distribution and will unveil the film's first footage to international buyers at AFM in Los Angeles this November.

Background

Blatty won the Golden Globe for best screenplay for his 1980 cult film The Ninth Configuration. Vila previously directed The Letter, while Weiss wrote White Boy Rick and Schlossberg wrote Hide and Seek.

Han's credits include The Weight, The Physician II and Samia. Rodríguez produced Four Seasons in Havana and Escobar: Paradise Lost, and de Posadas produced The Night Without Me. Colette Aguilar executive produced Marlowe.

Webber will next be seen in Ruben Östlund's The Entertainment System Is Down and can currently be seen in Netflix's War Machine. Winnick portrayed Lagertha in Vikings and starred in Big Sky and Flag Day. Mulroney will return as Jed Banks in Season 2 of Netflix's The Hunting Wives and will star in November 1963.
