Criterion to Release 30-Disc Complete Kubrick on October 20, 2026

The set collects all 13 Stanley Kubrick-directed films with new 4K restorations, plus three early shorts and rare behind-the-scenes material.

Criterion will release The Complete Kubrick, a thirty-disc collector's edition, on October 20, 2026, according to Deadline. The set presents all 13 films directed by Stanley Kubrick along with his three early short films.

All titles in The Complete Kubrick have received new 4K restorations. The set also includes Kubrick's rare international version of The Shining and a new 4K restoration of Vivian Kubrick's documentary Making The Shining.

Among the extras are previously unseen Lolita screen tests with James Mason and Sue Lyon, and rare Full Metal Jacket behind-the-scenes footage. Criterion will additionally launch a dedicated Kubrick playlist on its YouTube channel.

Criterion is producing the edition with Michael Chaiken, who produced last year's 4K restoration of Eyes Wide Shut for the label. Kim Hendrickson, a Criterion executive producer, approached Chaiken about a possible Kubrick project around the end of 2024.

The Complete Kubrick is the first official authorised release of Fear and Desire, a film Kubrick had withdrawn in the late 1950s and early 1960s and prevented from being screened.
