Crystal Lake Now Streaming on Peacock, Kane Eyes Season 2

All eight episodes of the Friday the 13th prequel are available, and creator Brad Caleb Kane says he has ideas for a second season.

All eight episodes of Crystal Lake, the prequel series to Friday the 13th, are now available to stream on Peacock, according to Deadline. Series creator Brad Caleb Kane discussed the production in an interview with the outlet.

The show was filmed in Blairstown, New Jersey, the same town where the original 1980 Friday the 13th was shot. Episode 4, titled "A New Beginning," recreates the original film's hitchhiking scene with a character named Willow, played by Oona Roche, and rebuilds the interior of Trudy's diner on a soundstage. Episode 5, titled "The New Blood," recreates the original film's opening kill shot-for-shot in a rebuilt boathouse at Camp Ocawasin in New Jersey.

Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco, which stood in for Camp Crystal Lake in 1980, was not available for filming. Production designer Lester Cohen rebuilt the camp's boathouse to exact specifications on a soundstage.

Season 2 plans

Kane said he has ideas for a second season with a "Twin Peaks-y" vibe, focusing on peripheral characters like Crazy Ralph, Officer Dorf and Trudy, while keeping Pam and Jason as the nexus of the story.

The cast includes Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, Bernadette Quigley as Trudy, Cameron Scoggins as Officer Dorf and Nick Cordileone as Crazy Ralph. The original Friday the 13th was released in 1980 and directed by Sean S. Cunningham.
