Zellweger, Sessa and Dinklage to Star in Gervasi's 'Darlington'

Renée Zellweger, Dominic Sessa and Peter Dinklage will star in Darlington, a comedy drama written and directed by Sacha Gervasi, according to Deadline. Foreign sales on the film are set to begin at AFM.

Zellweger plays Kate Spencer, a faded TV actress who is invited to reprise her most famous role in the real world. Sessa plays a reclusive tech billionaire who has restored an English country estate and lives as if it were 1923.

Production is planned for spring next year in the UK. The film is produced by Rocket Science, Monumental Pictures and Portobello Electric, with Alison Owen and Debra Hayward producing for Monumental and Jim Garavente producing for Portobello Electric. Alexander Payne executive produces.

Gervasi made his directorial debut with Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008), which won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary, and later directed the Academy Award-nominated Hitchcock, starring Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Scarlett Johansson. He wrote and directed My Dinner with Hervé for HBO, starring Dinklage, which earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Television Movie, and co-wrote Steven Spielberg's The Terminal.

Zellweger recently starred in and executive produced Mad About the Boy, the final chapter in the Bridget Jones franchise. Sessa is currently filming Miami Vice '85, while Dinklage stars in Black Bear's sex comedy Wicker.
