DC Comics Declares 2027 the Year of Wonder for Wonder Woman
The celebration includes new comic arcs, a free DC Universe Infinite collection and a bronze statue marking 85 years of the character.
DC Comics has declared 2027 the Year of Wonder, a year-long celebration of Wonder Woman, according to screenrant.com. The announcement covers new comic arcs, a free digital collection, a bronze statue and a five-issue miniseries.
Wonder Woman #41, from writer Louise Simonson and artist Cian Tormey, opens a four-issue arc that establishes a new status quo for Diana. The story centres on the Amazon Safety Act, which aims to let exiled Amazons return to Man's World, and features Lois Lane, Granny Goodness and the Female Furies.
Stephanie Williams and Elena Casagrande then take over for a six-issue arc built around a team-up between Diana and Queen Nubia.
A statue and a reading list
To mark 85 years of the character, a bronze Wonder Woman statue will be placed at 3400 Warner Boulevard. On the digital side, DC Universe Infinite is offering free access to six essential Wonder Woman comics in a Get to Know! Wonder Woman collection, with work by Tom King, Daniel Sampere, Greg Rucka, Nicola Scott and Phil Jimenez.
DC also announced Absolute Justice, a five-issue miniseries by writer Jason Aaron and artist Juan Ferreyra, for 2027.
Wonder Woman first became a mainstream icon through Lynda Carter's portrayal in a 1970s television series. In October 2025, DC announced the 2027 release of Absolute Justice.
