Die Hard Trilogy Gets 4K Steelbook Release on December 1

Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance arrive on 4K UHD for the first time as part of the collectible steelbook set.

The three original Die Hard films will be released as new 4K Blu-ray steelbook combo packs on Dec. 1, 2026, according to movieweb.com. The set covers Die Hard, Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance.

Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance will debut on the 4K UHD format for the first time. The original Die Hard had a previous 4K UHD release.

The discs use 4K resolution with Dolby Vision HDR masters and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The steelbooks share a unified aesthetic showing John McClane, the character played by Bruce Willis, in various battle stances.

The trilogy is distributed by 20th Century Studios Home Entertainment via Disney.

Background

Die Hard was released in 1988 and introduced McClane, a New York cop fighting a terrorist siege in a skyscraper on Christmas Eve. Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance followed as blockbuster sequels. The film series has been dormant since 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard, and Bruce Willis has stepped away from acting to focus on his health.
