Doctor Who: The Satan Pit Hits 1,000+ Screens for 20th Anniversary
BBC Studios, CinemaLive, and Fathom Entertainment bring a re-edited Doctor Who: The Satan Pit to cinemas for one night, marking 20 years of the Tenth Doctor and Rose.
BBC Studios, CinemaLive, and Fathom Entertainment have announced Doctor Who: The Satan Pit, a special cinematic event celebrating 20 years of the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler. The release combines the Doctor Who episodes The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit from Season 2, which originally aired in 2006, into a single re-edited film cut.
The story follows the Doctor and Rose after the TARDIS lands at Sanctuary Base 6, a remote station on a planet orbiting a black hole. The 120-minute film cut restores deleted scenes previously available on DVD and includes extended footage with never-before-seen scenes, plus an exclusive retrospective interview with director James Strong.
The screening will take place across more than 1,000 screens in the U.S., UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It is limited to one night on Doctor Who Day. Tickets are on sale through Fathom's official site and other local outlets.
