Sanderson's Dragonsteel Plans to Buy Former Evermore Park Site
Dragonsteel and The Will Group intend to acquire the Pleasant Grove property for Dragonsteel Plaza, though the existing buildings cannot be saved.
Brandon Sanderson announced on October 13, 2026 that Dragonsteel and development partner The Will Group intend to acquire the Pleasant Grove property formerly occupied by Evermore Park, according to ABC4. The site is to become part of Dragonsteel Plaza.
The existing buildings on the Evermore Park site cannot be saved. The land will need to be cleared and regraded, which means signature locations such as Vander's Keep cannot be incorporated into the new project.
Dragonsteel Plaza is planned to include a bookstore, a warehouse, a headquarters, and event space. The acquisition is structured as a business partnership between Dragonsteel and The Will Group rather than a solo project by Sanderson's company.
What happened to Evermore Park
Evermore Park opened to the public in 2018 after years of development, following an early concept booth at Salt Lake's FanX convention in 2014. The immersive fantasy attraction permanently closed at the end of 2023 after defaulting.
In January 2025, Evermore's owners sued prospective buyers Travis and Michelle Fox over an alleged breach of the purchase agreement, and the Foxes filed a counterclaim. A planned replacement called RealmTown never materialized after the sale failed to close.
