Dwayne Johnson Filmed in Brooklyn as 70-Year-Old Chicken Man

Set photos show Johnson in Kazu Hiro's prosthetics for Benny Safdie's Lizard Music, alongside co-star Theo Clark Leber.

Dwayne Johnson was photographed in Brooklyn on Tuesday filming Lizard Music, wearing prosthetic makeup to play a 70-year-old character called the Chicken Man, according to Variety.

In the set photos, Johnson wears a tan bucket hat and coat and holds a slice of pizza. His young co-star Theo Clark Leber carries an oversized lizard plush in the images.

Benny Safdie directs the film, and the prosthetic look was created by Kazu Hiro. Lizard Music is based on Daniel Pinkwater's children's book of the same name and comes from Amazon MGM Studios.

The cast also includes Rachel McAdams, Colman Domingo, David Krumholtz, Jeff Goldblum, Alicia Silverstone and Regina Hall.

Earlier prosthetic work

In 2025, Johnson starred in Safdie's The Smashing Machine as MMA fighter Mark Kerr, also using prosthetics. At the 2025 Toronto Film Festival, he said it took about 45 minutes of convincing from Safdie to sign on to Lizard Music, and that he shed 30 pounds of muscle to play the Chicken Man.

Lizard Music is set for release on Christmas Day 2027.
