A24 Takes Elden Ring Movie to AFM With $175M-$200M Budget
Amazon MGM Studios has picked up many of the film's international pay-1 streaming rights ahead of its 2028 release, per Deadline.
A24 is taking its Elden Ring movie to the American Film Market with a reported budget of between $175 million and $200 million, according to Deadline. That figure would make it the most expensive standalone project ever offered for sale at a film or television market.
The film is currently in post-production. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired many of the movie's international pay-1 streaming rights for tens of millions of dollars, a deal that would give the company the subscription streaming rights in those territories once the theatrical and premium video on demand windows have passed. Amazon MGM is expected to place the film on Prime Video during that window.
The adaptation is directed and written by Alex Garland and features Ben Whishaw among the cast. Producers include George R. R. Martin, Allon Reich, Andrew Macdonald, Vince Gerardis and Matthew Penry-Davey.
Elden Ring is scheduled for release on March 3, 2028. In January 2026, A24 signed a multi-year pay-1 deal with HBO covering the United States.
